Listing assets based on link value

Assets can be listed and grouped together in a number of ways, Group by, Parent, Metadata or Keyword. Alternatively an asset list can be created to filter assets based on a link value.

On the linking screen of an asset, not only can you create and delete links, you can set a link value.
This link value can then be used to filter an asset list.

link value

An asset list can be filtered to show all assets that match or do not match the link value. There are a number of settings that need to be applied:

  • Direct Links Only, should be set to Yes this will improve the performance of the asset list
  • Link value must be set to what you want to filter by
  • Link Value Filtering Logicmust be set to either Match or Does not Match
  • Enable Link Value Filteringmust be set to Yes
Asset List Settings

The Asset List will then look at the assets link value under the set Root Node and only return the assets that Match (or Do Not Match) the Link Value specified.

Thanks

Nice thing is an option to describe asset without using folders... Is that more that we can do by using %22Link Value%22%3F
